Hi Clive, very nice subject and detail in the centre of the flower, but unfortunately my eyes tend to fall off into the background because the petals, especially the edges, are not sharp and so tend to blend in with the blurred background. If the petal edges and ends were sharp, I suspect they would act more like a barrier to the blurred background and so act like leading lines to guide the eyes back to the centre of the flower. Anyway, just some food for thought

Thanks Bailey. Interesting and good observation. I blurred the petal tips on purpose and also darkened the back on purpose to highlight the center florets. Here is the "before" version, i.e. before the blurring and darkening. The image has been cropped. Clive

Yes Clive, for me the original version with the sharper petals works much better for me. Now when my eyes land on the petals, they are more naturally drawn to the florets on the right. But that could be just me. Whether you darken the background is up to personal taste imo, but I would suspect a darkened, blurred background with sharp petals would help the flower as a whole really pop. Maybe something like this. Here I darkened the background by moving the white point slider in Output Levels in a Levels Adjustment Layer to the left. (which lowers the white point value in an image/selection) As always, my 2c worth of food for thought
