These images are of the same blossom cluster with only a slight camera shift. When I toggle from one to the other I get a different feeling as to which I want to move forward with in Post Processing. These are SOOC, which would you choose? dick

Number two for me Dick as it seems more balanced.

yep, number 2 for me as well for the same reason as crafteysnapper and also because it looks to me you have less washed out highlights in number 2.

Can I be a real pain and say that for me the ideal composition would be halfway between the two? i.e. to get all of the petals of the main blossom in, but not to have it bang in the middle, that way the other blossom still gives some peripheral interest.

Hi Dick,
I am taking a different approach; I am not choosing either image 1 or 2. It is my understanding that you are trying to get back to using Elements and/or Lightroom. I believe it would be to your benefit to try a variety of images. For example, just in the case of these two images -- one editing technique which will work on one image may not be required for the other. In short, a wider variety of images used as a training ground will lead to a wider use of post-processing techniques.
