Thanks for allowing me the privilege to be this week's judge. Thanks to all who uploaded photos to their individual galleries the past seven days. Well that was not easy, but I have chosen angelag's sunflower as image of the week. Honorable mentions go to PeteB and Sydney. Congratulations! angelag's warm photo has strong yellow colors and I liked the tight crop. The separation between the flower and the background is excellent. Even though colors are the "same," the DOF helped the front row of petals stand out. The angle of the flower is appealing. Overall, it's a pleasing photo ... something you might see in a gardening, health or food magazine. PeteB's image of the kilns has a strong composition with excellent leading lines and balance...the trees offset the kilns in size and color. Sydney's arty "The Last Wave" is normally not my cup of tea, but the minimalist photo works well. Although the the mauves, pinks and blues (which I presume are manipulated) are "different" they add to the surrealism of the photo. Thanks also to L.A. Turner, jjr1770 (Judy), Tpgettys, dandc and hmca for their photos this week. Clive

pontiac1940, you did a fantastic job judging! Thank you so much for joining the judges' team. It is always a plus when the judge shares the reasons behind their selections and your presentation is great! Congratulations to Pete and Sydney for two strong images and to Angela for her beautifully composed sunflower.
