An apple. Should have use focus stacking as Helen recently demonstrated. This should be done again paying better attention to technique. (Actually have a framed print of a similar image hanging in the house.) Shot as raw with minimal processing. Perhaps you will know this was lighted. Clive

Ahhhh....didn't realize we were supposed to try to figure out how you did it.....perhaps cut a hole in the back of the apple and insert some kind of light?
Like the results......

Was not really a challenge Helen....was fishing for guesses. You are 100% correct!! Very good. Cored out the back and inserted a small LED flashlight. Shot in dark on a dark platform. Think there should be more exterior lighting as the sides are too dark. And stacking would be a good thing to try as well. Clive

What a brilliant idea, Clive. All I could think of, was some sort of spotlight. Great picture.

Wow, how creative is that? Great out of the box thinking, Clive! I must try that trick.

Thanks all.
I can't take credit...first saw this a few years ago when a young guy in the UK posted similar pix on a Sony forum. That's when I did the apple print that hangs in our house. The one posted here was done two days ago.
People have been photographing sliced oranges (and watermelons etc) over lights etc for years...to show off the translucent internal textures/structures. What's cool about this is that the apple is whole.
Thanks,
Clive
