Before I ask, let me say "Hi" to everyone. I have not been by in a while, but I owe so much to many who have served this community over the years in this format and in the previous.
UPDATED: Still have not solved how this happened. But, somehow, I changed/converted the file to a pse. I think I will need to save it as a pse. then, maybe I can convert it back to continue working. Don't know.
2nd UPDATE: I still do not know what I did or how I converted my working file to a pse. Then, my only save options were pse and PDF. However, I did learn a little. PSE is a Photoshop Elements only file. Still not sure what exact purpose it serves. It does contain a PSD file inside of the pse file. I was able to finally save my pic as a JPEG. I created a stamped image. I then selected the whole image and copied it with CTL + C. I then pasted it into another new file. Some how it pasted in as a JPEG file which I could then save as usual.
I will still appreciate any info or a link to info on PSE files.
below is the original posted question.
OK. Question. I am facing a dilemma which I think I have faced before and cannot remember how I go into this.
When I get to the "save as" dialog box to save as a jpeg a composite I have been working on with maybe 10 layers, I am presented with only one "save as" choice which is a dot pse and a dot PDF.
The normal array of choices are not available.
Obviously I did something to create this situation by accident. I think I did hit a ctl + something before I went to save earlier when I meant to so a normal ctl + x. Don't know know if I did something then.
Hope someone can help me out of the ditch I am in. I did go into the preferences file and uncheck "save as" in original folder.
Let me know if you need additional info.
Chuck
