The Zooliner moves. Thanks for the theme Sepiana. Bill, the Zooliner is perfect for this week's theme. Well-composed shot, beautiful colors, and . . . amazing details!

I took this one week before the theme came out. I was trying to get some different impressions so that some of what I did would fit into at least one recent category. This was one of my favorite shots from the trip. The locomotive has been hauling people and freight on this track since it came out of the factory in 1923. The other rolling stock dates back to when the line started operating in 1881. Rick, you captured an American icon that moves (and has been doing it for a long time). Great composition and DOF! I really like the portrait orientation.

Bill, very original interpretation of this week's theme. I really like the angle you took your shot; it makes our eyes move with the movers. Great capture!

The line runs from Durango to Silverton in southwestern Colorado. It is very definitely in the mountains. There were a lot of narrow gauge rail lines in Colorado during the height of the gold and silver mining period because they can make sharper turns and run through narrow canyons since the road bed is not as wide as standard gauge rail. Rick, two great shots! My favorite is the second one -- showing the rail line curving as it runs between the sharp rock wall and the vertiginous precipice. It puts all in perspective!

Here is something that moves - remarkably so, as this veteran bus is about seventy years old. It is brought out of retirement on special "Running Days", when vintage buses retrace the old country bus routes, giving free rides to enthusiasts and anyone else who wants to chug around the countryside in the old-fashioned way.

Brenda, what a gem you found -- a bus with a history! I really like that you took two shots (front/back of the bus) and captured those smiling faces. Great job!

Dennis, great job capturing that little squirrel! He is definitely ready to move on . . . to the next snack. I really like how you composed your shot -- giving him our full attention.

Sorry, Sepiana, that is Jess, one of my female whippets. She can keep up with a lot of greyhounds - one of which she was chasing at the time.

whippet, thanks for correcting me! Got it wrong on two counts. 😀 Sepiana, it would appear you require another one of our coffee's Wayne, you nailed it! However, I require not just one but two (or even three).
