Hi all, My apologies for being quiet. (Some might be happy I am not here! ) We have been tied up with family matters for the past 2 or 3 weeks and I am not taking photos or spending much time on the computer. On Thursday, my wife and I are taking a 5-day holiday into northern Canada (Yellowknife) in an effort to photograph Northern Lights....a real "crap shoot" because 1) the NLs need to show up and 2) it can't be cloudy. Shall see ... it will go in our favor ... or not. Clive

No need for apologies, Clive. Forum activity level fluctuates for most of us and family matters are always a top priority. Enjoy your holiday, with or without, the Northern Lights. Look forward to seeing your work when you get back. Safe travels!

Thanks everyone! So far the weather forecast is quite good (can't have clouds) ... the long-range NL forecasts are so so. No matter, we are looking forward to going and will make the best of it. Fingers crossed! Thanks again. Clive

Hi Clive,
no need to apologise or apply for a leave pass .
People come and go as they like here. I hope your family matters work out ok and best wishes for photographing the Northern Lights. I'm sure if the weather is fine, you'll produce great photos/memories.
Either way, enjoy your holiday and take care

The Northern Lights can be absolutely spectacular, I've seen them many times from Churchill, Thompson and Flin Flon MB. And unfortunately, the colder it is, they are more brilliant, and you can hear the snapping sound as they are constantly moving!
