Hi. I have 2 photos open in elements 7 of which i can see one behind the other. I click on one and drag it ontop the other. This is done as the two photos do not fill up the whole screen area if you no what i mean. Having done that i now have Background & Layer1
Now i wish to do the same thing in elements 9
Now i have noticed that the photo now fills the whole screen area. I have noticed at the top of each photo is a tab with its name etc. Watching on you tube i see people click on one photo tab copy then paste on second photo tab but this didnt work for me. I also see people click on one and drag to the other but this also did not work for me. I see also a setting under window remove the tick from application frame which then made the photos not fill the whole screen area and tabs were gone,so now like elements 7,this also didnt work for me as these instructions were for Mac only.
How do i get this like elements 7 or how to i put one on top the other so i can use the layer mask option.
Thanks

You need to go to Edit>Preferences>General> . . . and turn on Allow Floating Windows. See this thread on the Adobe Photoshop Elements forum for more details.

Morning, Can this be changed please. I click on the PSE9 icon on my lower taskbar. I see a splash screen where all the contributors etc are thanks & the version currently installed. This splash screen then closes and PSE is ready for me to start work.
BUT it opens behind the current window i have open every time so i need to close it down to then see the PSE screen.
When i was using PSE7 it never did this and always opened up in front.
