Went for a nice hike this afternoon at the river valley. Weather was the best: sunny to high thin cloud and no wind. Was lovely in the open, but it was 0°C and there was some frost on the path in the shade. Still, I dressed too warm. I parked at the bottom and walked up a coulee ridge to the topland and carefully walked back down another ridge...I use walking poles for stability as I am too old to be falling and some parts are steep. This is a sagebrush on top of the ridge with cottonwood poplars in the valley floodplain far down below. The depth of the image is a tad deceiving because the closest poplars down below are about 300 m away...shot at 24mm FL. The topland across the valley is ~1,500 m away. I took a few "arty" photos and might post one later. By Saturday evening, this will be covered in snow. Maybe, I can get a "weather" photo for the weekly challenge.
