Looks good to me blackmutt
In my browser I can see the lighthouse, ray of light from it, background trees/foliage, clouds and rain.

Yes I can. He is standing on the lighthouse platform on the right side of the light dome.

Have been following this thread with interest as I could barely make out the lighthouse. After seeing Bailey's post above I had to bring it into PS and make the necessary adjustments so that I could see what you were both seeing. I am on our travel laptop and will be interested to see how this looks on the desktop when I get home. It is certainly an interesting image.....when you can see it

It is a bummer since the photo is no where near as dark before being uploaded. Oh well 😔

For anyone interested, this is one of the images I use to check my screen calibration and printer profiles. Depending on the quality of your screen and whether your screen is properly calibrated, you should see 13 shades of grey from white to black in the right side bar "circled in red"

Question Bailey.....do you include the white and black when counting....or just the gray shades?

It's including the white and black. I see 13 rectangles in total from top to bottom.

Can you see the lighthouse keeper? Judy,
Three is a charm! Kudos to you! Now I can see the details in your image, including the lighthouse keeper.

I hope this post does not break forum rules because I am posting an image of your image blackmutt and deviating from your initial posting. I'll gladly delete it. Gosh something strange seems to be afoot. I can see the outlines and some coloration in on my Samsung 9-inch tablet (but not the person). The image below (in my post) is what I see on my monitor..mostly just dark with some details. ...Dell, 24-inch screen. Now I am not sure how this will translate here. My screen snip below and your original "last try" seem the same to me...give or take .. neither have deets. BTW, I can see 11 shades on the grayscale. Manually changing brightness and contrast from min to max make little difference. The top two whites and bottom two black blocks appear as one. However ... and I am hardly one to be commenting on anything to do with calibration, but according to the the dpreview article here: www.dpreview.com/reviews/epsonr3000/4... this image ibb.co/4drkTLS is a scan of a print made with an Epson printer so has gone through several levels of interference: editing; printing; scanning; editing (or not) and posting. There is something more here than calibrating monitor levels, or else those who us who see dark (Helen and I for sure), could not post anything online and most of our images are suitable based on feedback. Interesting. Clive

If it's the bottom 3 you can't distinguish, it would explain why it might be difficult to see some of the elements in blackmutt's image.

It is a bummer since the photo is no where near as dark before being uploaded. Oh well 😔 Judy, I am not sure you want to go down this route but you could try a Levels adjustment or you could try this technique posted by the late Wendy Williams on the EV forum.
- Duplicate the background layer. - Change the blending mode to Screen. (Adjust the Opacity if needed.)

Is the white a square? If it is then I can't distinguish the bottom three....and yes I assumed that would be the reason I couldn't see the image as clearly as you and Judy were seeing it.
