Tom I’m really enjoying the New World of Photography book you mentioned in the IOW thread. This is my version of the Snowy Morning tutorial from the book. I think it's my third incarnation of it but I've had so much fun doing it. Honest criticism welcome...

LOVE this, Lillias! Especially like the women in period clothing. When we get home I need to download this book.

I have yet to do this lesson from the book. They take a while to do don't they? Not knowing PS very well at all, it gets tricky because she uses an older version. You did a very nice job!

I have yet to do this lesson from the book. They take a while to do don't they? Thank you Judy. They do take a while but that doesn’t bother me as I quite like to get my teeth into something. I don’t have the full PS so I had to work around some things but it was OK. I would say knowing how to work with layer masks in PS/PSE is a great advantage for this kind of thing. One thing – the author seems to advocate putting your shadows all on one layer – I would disagree with that and used separate layers for each shadow allowing me the option to change an individual shadow much easier if needed farther down the line.

I love this image, sounds like you’re having fun with the projects in this book. Thank you Jacki and yes I am enjoying it. The problem will come when I have to source my own images and use my own imagination to create a page of my own...

Imagination is a funny thing, when I have loads of time it deserts me, and when I have limited time, it chooses to visit! Are you like me with lots of unfinished projects?

I don’t think imagination is my strong point. I’ve come to realise that I’m not an original thinker. I need to see what others come up with to take inspiration from them. I don’t really have a lot of unfinished projects. If I feel I’m not progressing with something after giving it a certain amount of time and effort I just scrub it and move on!!!

Beautiful picture, Lillias.
