Right, I'm going to go a bit rogue this week. Let me explain. As is my usual routine, when it is my week to judge the IOW I don't look at the Gallery during the week so that I come to it fresh on a Sunday afternoon with no preconceptions so today I scrolled through the images as normal and selected my top three, and was also pleased that they were all very different styles, which meant there was a great variety of reasons to like them. But when I went and looked back in more detail to create this thread I saw to my amazement that my top three had all been created by the same person. In the past, when I've loved two similar images from one person I've managed to choose one from them in order to spread the love around. But this week is such a slam dunk I think they need their moment in the spotlight. So take a bow, blackmutt, you have just blown the competition away!
My third favourite: Winter Feed

Beautiful selection of a slightly dilapidated building that fits the sketch style so well. I have recently tried to do something similar to an image of mine - this is exactly the look I was after but I failed miserably so I know how hard it is to get it right. And yours is spot on. Just two muted colours to draw the attention and pencil sketch linework trailing off to the borders.
Second favourite: Entrance to the Barn

I love the starkly monochrome stippled effect that you have achieved. There are some things that my head wants to grumble about (I'm normally a stickler for correcting verticals and I hate clipping the apexes of roofs and tops of arches) but my heart just loves it despite these; they add to the quirkiness and the 'less than perfect' quality. Oh, and I'll just take the opportunity to remind people of this month's black and white challenge of 'through', which this image fits perfectly.
And my Image of the Week:

And now for something completely different, a great surge of vibrant colour. I love the sharpness, I love the concept, I love the execution, I love the lighting. It shows how light diffracts through water, it shows how bubbles vary through the water and it shows how an artistic eye and great technique can make a great image from the humblest of material.
Thank you, Blackmutt, and thanks to everyone else for posting to their galleries this week, but sorry we've all been eclipsed.
