When I try to put a photo in My Gallery, it does not appear; however, it shows in the Latest Gallery Posts. All that appears in My Gallery is a tiny box with a cross inside it. What am I doing wrong and can I get rid of these little boxes with nothing inside them? If anyone can help, many thanks, Dennis

Hi Dennis, I just looked at your gallery. It appears to me that you may not have copied all that was needed from the url for your topiary image. When I look at the url you entered it is missing part of the chain. Notice the link for the topiary in your gallery: Compared to the link for your swan: Here are the directions for using imgbbHope this helps.

When you upload an image via imgbb you will see 2 urls. One for the image that appears in the post and a different one for the enlargement. The url ending in Jsn is a valid url. If you navigate to it in your browser you will see it takes you to the imgbb enlargement page for your topiary image. This url will not work as a gallery image. Gallery images require urls to the actual jpg file which is the other url that is generated when you upload an image. In this case it appears you copied the wrong url to your gallery even though it is a valid url. Hth

Yes, you can get rid of those tiny boxes in your Gallery. Just click on them and select "Delete". (This will also delete the corresponding post(s) in "Latest Gallery Posts".) I hope you don't mind; I took the liberty of going ahead and fixing the problem.
Now, just add the Topiary image to your Gallery following Andy 's instructions in the link Helen provided.
If you follow those instructions, your image will display properly in your Gallery. Also, when you go to "Latest Gallery Posts", you won't see what I highlighted on the screen shot below.

Hi Dennis,
You, and anyone else interested, can use the url to the image's enlargement page I posted about earlier to enhance gallery images by giving visitors the option to view an enlargement of a gallery image.
In this thread below
I show tpgettys how to implement a View Enlargement link into a gallery image.
So far I have seen tpgettys and pontiac1940 implement View Enlargement into some of their gallery images.

I hope you don't mind; I took the liberty of going ahead and fixing the problem. Hi Sepiana, You don't have to delete the gallery post and then re-upload the image. A much easier, quicker and consequently better way is to simply replace the incorrect url with the correct one. This way the OP doesn't have to delete or re-upload anything. For example, when you upload an image via imgbb, this is a sample bbcode that is created for you. [url=https://ibb.co/XCYYJ4k][img]https://i.ibb.co/4V231yfg/MG-8656.jpg[/img][/url] The url: https://ibb.co/XCYYJ4k points to the imgbb image enlargement page. This url cannot be used as the gallery's image url.
This is the url I use in any image I post in "Show Your Work", or wherever, where I have created a "View Enlargement" button in my post.
The url: https://i.ibb.co/4V231yfg/MG-8656.jpg is the url to the actual jpg file that appears in the gallery. This is the url that you need for the gallery's image url.
You can also get this url from the Latest Gallery Posts thread by right clicking on an image and selection "Copy image location" in the popup context menu.

When the problem involves multiple uploads of the same image, one still needs to delete the duplicate images from the Gallery. Furthermore, asking the member to re-upload his/her image by following Andy's instructions will give us, Administrators, the opportunity to see if the member can successfully do it. It is a learning experience!

Many thanks indeed to all those who contributed help and guidance about putting images into my Gallery. Haven't had time yet to experiment with the various suggestions offered, but I will certainly be putting all the advice into practice. All your help is very much appreciated. Dennis

Very happy to see you sorted it out Dennis.
Maybe when you have time perhaps have a go at adding a View Enlargement link to enhance your gallery even more.

I've been away from the forum for many many months and am just getting back to some activity here. I checked out my personal gallery and the first 12 images are not displayed, instead showing little boxes, (screenshot below). I tried clicking on them to delete but nothing happens. I don't recall what these images were so can't re-upload and would like to get rid of the boxes, can anyone tell me how to do that.

Pauline,
I checked those images. They were uploaded via postimg.org which changed to postimg.cc. I have fixed this problem for some of our members. Let me see if I can get those images back. If not, I may be able to "extract" the image titles and you can upload them again. Hang in there!

Pauline, no luck. Sorry! I was able to edit the Image URL text for 9 images but they didn't display properly (blue thumbnail). I couldn't edit the URL for the remaining 3 images. Fortunately, if you want to upload those images again, I was able to extract the titles of all 12 images and, in some instances the information in the Comments box. Sketch3 Orchid2 Boats Gotha Canal Catavina 101 IMG_1065 IMG_1093 Yellow Orb Clematis Orb Lake2 (Chilliwack Lake) Tulip Poster Raymond and Lucas (Magnificent Clydesdales at a local Ploughing Competition today) To get rid of those blue thumbnails/broken boxes, . . . right-click on each one and, then, click on the "Delete" button.
