Hello,
I can not seem to find any info on the 'Image Tags' (button right corner). Lots of stuff on the 5 (or is it really four?) categories above it (Keywords, People, Places, Events, Other).
Here is a problem I am having. Let us say that I have 100 pics of my daughter named Kelcy. And in those pics (or, any other that I ran across that are of Kelcy, and I tagged her using the above mentioned 'Image Tag') I had just typed her name in that bottom left corner where it says: "Image Tags" --- "Add Custom Image Keywords --- "Add". So, let us say I have 'tagged' at least 200 photos of Kelcy using the method this method.
Then, I learned about Keywords, sub-categories, parent categories and hierarchy. So, I made her name a sub-category (ie. "Kelcy") in the parent category of 'Other'. I did the 'drop and drag' thing with her name on about 20 pics. Then, to continue the learning, I clicked on her name in my hierarchy and expected to see about 220 pics of Kelcy (the 200 done via 'Image Tags') and then about 20 more pics of "Kelcy" done via 'Other' and her name (Kelcy) as a sub-category.
It found only about a dozen pics total.
I was disappointed to say the least.
I thought I would at least have the 20 to look at. The ones done in the manner of the different colored text above.
What is the purpose of the "Image Tags" --- "Add Custom Keywords" --- "Add"?
I thought it would be a BOTH/AND, rather than an EITHER/OR. Like I could use BOTH "Image Tags" (from the bottom right corner) AND my hierarchy in which I create the subcategory of the name "Kelcy". But, from my playing around with it over the last twelve hours, that appears not to be the case.
It seems like I am to use EITHER the "Image Tags" (bottom right corner) OR the hierarchy and its custom-made sub-categories. It seems like one cancels out the other.
Now I have about 100 sub-categories in my "Other" parent category. I did not make all of those last night. I guess some of them are the "Image Tags" (button right hand corner) that I created over the last two months.
I am very frustrated and looking for a way to understand some of the basic concepts that apply to this area and a method to tag my pictures quickly and easily and have that work not cancel out work that I have done previously.
Thanks in advance.
