This gallery this week was full of wonderful images, congratulations to all those who shared their creativity. I always look forward to checking out the gallery, your images are inspiring. Special mentions must go to angelag for her Sandhill Cranes image, they look so elegant and I like how they look like they are ignoring you as you take their photo.
deany's Spring and Fall is so well balanced and just a thing of beauty. You seem to find just the right elements to compliment these arrangements, and your use of colour is always pleasing and never overdone.
I have chosen blackmutts image of the hay bales in the field for this week's IOW. I love everything about this, the romance of the subject matter is enhanced by the golden tones of the field, wonderful use of texture to really bring out the sky in the background.

Thanks for judging, Jackie. It is nice to read the reasons for your choices. Congratulations to Angela and Dean and special congratulations to Judy. I love that you are sharing your textured works with us Judy....this one has the look of earlier times.

Thanks for judging and for giving the Sandhill Cranes an honourable mention. You're right--they were much more interested in foraging than my camera. Congratulations to Dean--that's a beautiful still life arrangement, I wish I could do that. As for Judy's hay bales in the field, it's quite exceptional, and it deserves to be framed and hung in a special place.

Congratulations to all 3 selected but particularly to blackmutt for such a beautifully textured image, John Constable would have been pleased to have painted that.
Great selection and comments, jackscrap.
Edit: I've just gone and looked at Hay Bales in 'Show your work' and it clearly brought Constable to mind for Rita too. So there must be something in it.

Excellent choices. Angelag, love the cranes....how can you get so close? The occasional ones we see here are spooky. Aren't they huge? Deany, lovely colors and composition...calming. Agree with the other comments about blackmutt's bale photo. Very old school effect (even with the modern bales.)

They are two of a resident Crane family (the other is out of the frame) at the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary, in Delta BC., so they're fairly used to visitors. The youngster (whom I couldn't identify) was hatched last year, and we were all happy that he survived, because, sadly, in the past, we've lost other hatchlings to predators. On the whole they ignore us, but a friend was able to hand-feed them (with gloves on of course). She was braver than me!
