Hummm... old antique furniture with delaminated veneer, or perhaps peeling varnish or paint.

It is (or was) a wall of some sort. It was painted. It seems as though something has been removed because there are "pegs" casting shadows and there are screws.
Seems to be shot indoors. The shadows are not parallel which they'd be if under sunlight. Mind is abuzz.

Ritage, it is one photo. Clive, it was painted at one time in it's life. It was shot outdoors no sunshine, hence no shadows. Keep thinking, you will figure it out. Helen, it is sort of a hint.
