Hi, I recently bought a tutorial from Anna Aspnes Designs and here is my result. Any suggestions you make will be appreciated

I think you have made a wonderful page about finding a bit of respite from all the rain, wish some of it could have been diverted south to Victoria. I think there maybe a spelling mistake in the word infrastructure, otherwise the results are perfect.

Thanks for picking up the spelling mistake jackscrap, it never was my best subject. I will alter it thanks, I think I will also delete the pink colouring top left as it was not so obvious on my laptop. Incidentally I am also from Melbourne, our daughter lives in Townsville and fortunately escaped the worst of the floods. As you said we needed the rain but I am not enjoying today’s cold weather in Victoria.

Lovely page moss. The journaling tells the story too. The forces of nature can wreak such terrible havoc. It’s nice to hear of folks pulling together to help one another in such circumstances.

I'm not against that pink color - your overall design supports different colored blotches. I think you did a wonderful job. I like layouts with journaling and I like how you sketched the tower to use as an additional element on your page. Even the stitching was a good addition - it kinda leads my eye to the journaling.
Great job.
One comment - I would include a date when you visited the site. When one looks back at events we scrapbook, it's always nice to have a date.
And for proofreading journaling to catch spelling errors - use your layout as the desktop photo on your computer. When you reopen the computer, the layout will be there - and you will look it over with fresh eyes. That's when I most often catch my errors.
One more thing - make sure you create in 300 pixels per inch resolution. It makes using scrapbook kits a breeze (because the standard is creating in 300 ppi on a 12 inch x 12 inch layout) and with 300, there will be enough pixels if you decide to print your layout.

As someone who is more of a photographer than a scrapper, I love to see how people design a page around their pictures. Lillias and Janice are our master scrappers here and I appreciate what I have learned from them. Every once in awhile I'll try my hand at this. Your design is lovely thanks for sharing it. Janice, your scrapper's eye had me look again to see the stitching you were referring to......you have a good eye for detail!

Thank you all so much for your suggestions and encouragement. I have included the date etc. and made a few subtle changes which I think has improved the overall layout. Cheers

That’s a keeper. Hard to believe you are a novice at this. You have a great eye for detail.

Thanks again ladies, I really appreciate your encouragement as I am still very much at the ‘play’ stage.
