Prairie crocus, Anemone patens. This small spring-flowering perennial is not a crocus an anemone in the Buttercup family. They have started to flower in the river valley, although peak flowering looks like it's 2 or 3 days away. Lethbridge, Alberta. April 16.

Thanks Helen and Jackie! They are very delicate and the flowers only last about one day. Fortunately, different plants bloom over a few days...even single plants have several shoots and they all bloom over time. Clive
