This is what I came up with. Thanks for this blackmutt . The wood grain disappeared because of the blend mode I used (Pin Light) but I really like the effect I achieved using it!

Fun technique, Judy. I like the way it worked with this church entrance I had taken in Charleston and a picture from the cemetery behind the church.

Sepiana, I agree with Rita. Before photography my hobby was counted cross-stitch.....something like this would have taken me a couple of months to complete!
