I have gotten 58 spam emails in the last 4 days,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,one of my friends (jokester's of which I have a few)..whomever it was knew a little nickname I used in my work career so I know it was one of them. What they did was sign me up with an online/dating/ etc service called "match.com". My regular email address got hacked at that point. I have been putting a block on the addresses as they appear or I see them. I wonder if I just ignor them and send them to my spam folder and delete if that would be a better approach, most of them go direct to the spam folder. I don't open those that get in to my inbox . I highlite and hover which makes the address appear without opening. I may have to change my email address before all is said and done,,,,,,,if I ever find out who the culprit is I'll get even somehow. BTW I'm 79 years young and cartainly not looking for any action of any kind dick

Oh, that's not a nice thing for friends to do to a friend I can't think what else to do but to keep sending them all to spam. Hopefully, they'll peter off a bit in time ...

Oh that is not a joke as far as i am concerned. I would be really ticked. Sorry your friend did not think before acting upon the joke.

I only received one in the last 24 hours, maybe pulling them out of the "Spam Folder" and applying the block is the best way, before I was just deleting the "Spam Folder" and they kept coming. They always seemed to come between 4 and 5 PM. It kinda suggests someone was just pulling the plug on my address at that time of day. I'll see what happens in the next 24 hours.

I think it's a horrible thing for a 'friend' to do. I remember one of my kids' friends who decided to pull a similar prank in pre-email days - he went through a few magazines and newspapers and for a joke filled in our name and address on every advert that had a form to request further information - I think about fifty different companies in all selling everything from double glazing to hearing aids and everything in between. We were inundated with junk mail for the next couple of years. Not very funny at all IMHO.

We (the Jokester group) have pulled some pretty hard jokes on each other over the years but this one kinda messes with my mind. I'll get even if I don't die first . I do have an answer for the ad/junk mail, tear everything they sent you up into little pieces and return it to them in the self addressed return envelope, they will quit pretty fast.. can't you just see all those little pieces in someones lap or on top of their desk. dick

Ha, Dick, thats exactly what I do with all that junk mail, especially the credit card offers. They do get the message eventually.
