Went fishing today in the foothills at the base of the mountains...was chilly. On the way out, we came across a family moving cows and calves. Four of the family were on horseback, including two very young boys. (The kids were out of school today for the Victoria Day holiday.) We pulled over and waited while they herded most of the critters off the road so we could pass. Always love to see this type of thing: real people doing what they do to feed to world.

I love where you live! We would have to be on vacation to see something like that!

Thanks Helen. This is about one hour from our house as we live on the plains to the north east. This is spectacular part of the province. Thanks. A wee confession, I should have noted in the original post. There was a power pole behind the herd on the grassy hill. I removed it...bothered me. Clive
