What an experience at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson. A fun filled 4 hours on 2 days with plenty of photo opportunities. Because the situation changed from setting to setting and there was little time to think about camera settings I chose to use auto ISO and aperture priority set to f/4. This resulted in images with more noise than I prefer ... however a large percentage were usable. I normally resort to ACR for noise reduction in such cases and then move to On1 for everything else. Our instructor, Jay Pierstorff, told us about how impressed he was with Topaz DeNoise AI. I gave it a shot.

Love that Gila lizard. Do you see them in the dessert? That noise reduction is impressive.

Thanks Clive, I haven't seen one in the wild as yet. Topaz offers a 30 day trial - I only downloaded DeNoise AI and I'm seriously considering purchasing it - US $79
