Hi all, Been away again and caught up with life. All good. We came to the summer place last evening and hope to hang out for a few days...won't be so quiet because it is the Canada Day long weekend. Oh well. Yesterday was quite stormy with some hail in the area and t-storms. The evening was dull and overcast with no sunset. At about 9:45 somehow the sun rays got through the clouds (obviously an opening behind the mountains) and for a few minutes the sky was mystical. Was neat. Clive

WOW.
Seeing that would make the storm and hail worthwhile.

Nice Clive. At this time of year in the southern hemisphere when the sun sets at 5pm its hard to fathom seeing sun rays at 9:45pm!

Thanks whippet and Sydney. Sydney, what's really neat is going way up north into the NWT when the sun sets at 11:30 PM. Or better yet, going above the Arctic Circle in summer when the sun does NOT set in mid summer! I was fortunate to spend one week in the Arctic in 2014, and fishing at midnight with the sun still above the horizon is mystical. We went to Chile a few years ago and of course the sun was in the north vs in the south. For one month, I never did get directions sorted out! Clive
