After retirement I studied to be a master naturalist and discovered another favorite flower. This is the common milkweed - a favorite food for the Monarch Butterfly.

What unusual caterpillars, Pete. And difficult to tell which is head, and which is rear end.

Yes the Monarch caterpillars are unique in another way ... they're able to consume the milkweed even though the sap is highly toxic.
