I didn't, for one.
Years ago, my husband and I were on the committee of a bird rescue. It was incorperated at an owl centre.

I didn't know that either! Maybe too many "Days" to keep track off in old brain!

I sure didn't know that. I wonder if there is international ice cream day - if there is I will be definitely looking forward to it

Slightly off topic because it includes more than just owls. Our house is across the road from the Alberta Birds of Prey www.burrowingowl.com/www.facebook.com/Alberta-Birds-of-Prey-Foundation-187450737955817/(It is duly noted, they did not list the IOAD on their FB page. ) They house an assortment of raptors and owls. Some rescued birds (that are brought in) are released, but many can't be released. The BOP operates a large facility that is open to the public from May to September. In 2009, I obtained money from TD bank to print these posters that I designed with my own photos. The posters were donated to the BOP and they were sold at the gift shop and given away at schools.

Great poster Clive. We have a Birds of Prey place up island which I occasionally visit as the birds are so fascinating. I did not realize that turkey vultures are critical to our environment as they can digest anything, including poisons, without kicking the bucket. Also, some of the birds are hired by airports to keep the airways clear. ...and recently, they have been hired to clear the gulls out of downtown Victoria (Canada) so they (the gulls) don't poop on everything (which causes such a mess on the buildings and streets).
Following up on Sidney's thought, ...there must be an international chocolate day!!! (not Valentines)

I am glad you started this topic, Helen. I am getting a good laugh from the comments.
Beautiful picture, Pete.
Fantastic poster, Clive. That would really draw the publics' attention.
edit. You just got there before me, srmoment. I too like the idea of international ice cream, and chocolate, days.

I think that is a great idea, Helen. I hope others agree. Seems there are National Days for just about everything. Would you believe - National sock day - in December. edit. National oyster day in the USA today.
