This week part of the IOW thread has been 'for the birds' and fortunately the cat has stayed confined and has let the birds fly free.
A nod to the bird lovers, and those that chase dragonflies and lose them: Duckling and Dragonfly.
One image leaves me with the feeling that I have seen something strange and beautiful, and it is still a conundrum, Monkey Man.... who are you? and how did you get here?
Another mystery to me is how mushrooms can be blue. Enjoy these nestled down in the leaf layer.
My choice for Image of the Week is Sun Seekers. The color, texture, and vignette calls me to enjoy the sun while I may. Now that is not a mystery.

Congratulations Sepiana, and thank you for the nod this week Esther! This happened to be an image that I was especially proud of, so I was disappointed that there were no comments on it. Your acknowledgement is all the more appreciated!

Congratulations to all! Well done judging, Esther!
Sepiana, your picture reminds me of van Gogh. Beautiful!
Tom, I'm sorry I didn't comment on your picture. I studied it carefully, and forgot to tell you that I find it very imaginative and I like it very much.

It's always fun judging the IOW. I know there were people wanting to comment as the thread grew, but were asked to hold comments until the end of the week.
Okay, Monkey-Man, who are you and how did you get here? I am waiting to figure out how this came to be!

Hi Esther, The Monkey-Man image was the result of the Endless Possibilities challenge. I copied and rotated the image 4 times to get the symmetry. The faces where almost unavoidable after looking at it for a bit; it really was quite startling! The only thing I did besides cutting&pasting the eyes into it was to select a few regions and boost the saturation in them to bring out the "coat", head decorations, etc. Was that what you were asking for?

I'm so glad Sepiana won IOW. That was my choice too. The colors just burst forth. It makes me feel joyous.

I realize that some of the images presented in the collage for this week's IOW do not reflect the quality of the original images. Because a judge is pulling images from different sources, the resolution of the original pieces may not match. This becomes a problem when trying to group the images together in the same layout. This wasn't realized until this week's presentation, but will be brought to the attention of our judges for future announcements. Sun Seekers
