Love a challenge...thanks... Applied the Smart Brush sketch texture to the original man and blended with the Overlay Blend mode. Did the same with the second man but used the Multiply Blend mode for him. Overlayed a texture with the Darken Blend mode.  Images from pixabay, images from pinclipart, Texture by Kerstin Frank. |

Lillias, I only found out about McGuffey Readers in my studies of American History, but thought they would have been known in other English-speaking countries. In the US millions of children must have been brought up with them, and they are still used today it seems.

Never heard of them Rita and I asked my husband and he hadn’t heard of them either which is not to say they weren’t used somewhere else in the English speaking world although from what I’ve read I would say they were mainly used in America. It has been interesting reading about Mr McGuffey. Yet again you have added to my education...LOL.
