While waiting for some dark skies without clouds (preparing to capture Perseids) this moon was ever present.
On1 adjustments: tone and adding dynamic contrast cleaned this up quite a bit.

Hi Peter,
Regarding your title "On1 to the rescue", in my experience most reputable image editing applications will do at least the same, including PSE.

Hi Peter, Regarding your title "On1 to the rescue", in my experience most reputable image editing applications will do at least the same, including PSE. The title represents my go-to application and in no way suggests that other software couldn't provide similar results.
The before image presents the opportunity for others to chime in with similar results using other software ... hint hint

Thank you for clarifying Peter.
The purpose of the title is ambiguous. Newbies to image editing could have formed an incorrect impression.

I have previously posted photos I have taken of the moon both on this Web site and others.
Anyone is welcome to post queries and/or comments in the appropriate thread about how I took the photos or my post processing.
I don't have your raw file so am unable to use it as an example.

Since last night was a testing scenario there's no raw file to be had.

That's a pity....it would have been an interesting image for this forum's RAW Challenge.

Peter - nice shot! I too was out playing tonight. Here's mine taken at 200mm (350 crop sensor) and major cropping and processed in Lightroom. This one may have been hand held. I am hoping it's clear on Monday night for the meteor shower! i.ibb.co/fC1HwYs/DSC-4831.jpg

I'll be starting about 3am Tues ... in Tucson the almost full moon sets about 4am which provides a small window prior to sunrise (5:46). Our weather prediction is clear
