Creating Composite Images using a Layer Mask www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgLkE_Rl6G8 Have you ever wanted to incorporate one image into another one? In other words create a composite image. There are various ways of doing this, however for this tutorial I have chosen to point to the video linked above because I feel it shows a good selection of ways to use a layer mask to achieve a composite image.
If you are just beginning to find out about layer masks, in my humble opinion, this would be a great place to start. You will also learn how a layer mask can be adjusted to suit. I suggest watching the video first to familiarise yourself with the technique. It’s not very long and is easy to follow. To get started:- Items required - 2 photos of choice. Good luck everyone and I look forward to seeing your results.
One request – please also show your starter images as well as your finished result.

Thanks Helen and Frank for getting the challenge off to a great start.
Helen that’s quite an art feature and I’d say you have accomplished your goal here. Nicely done.
Love those flowers Frank and thanks for showing your layers too.

whippet ....if you click the gear on the lower right you can adjust the speed of the video: Thank you Helen. That is much better than stopping and starting the video continuously. That looks like spaghetti hanging to dry in your pics.

Had the perfect opportunity to create composites last night as our town had a fireworks display. Your fireworks photos make a great composite image Helen. Love your next one too with the plane and the car although I don't think I would want to be sitting in that car at that precise moment...lol.

Images from Pixabay... I followed the tutorial using a linear gradient and adjusted with soft brushes.

For this one I used a radial gradient with minor adjustment with a soft brush. BG Texture by Sydney Image from Pixabay

Images NASA it took several layers to prepare the Hubble with bevels and white drop shadow to make it stand out.
