I used the "Direct Link for Layouts" to post the image in dicklaxt's Gallery,,,is this acceptable and not using web space on this site?

I have been using the one for Forums which works fine in "Show Your Work" but didn't work for the "Individual Gallery" so I just took a chance on the Direct link and it worked.

OK, I now understand what you are referring to, and yes, the Direct Link is the one to use!
The other works well for regular board posts, and it has the width parameter in it, so you can edit your post if need be and change that in the BBCode view.
