I've been using PSE 15 - Editor only - since it was introduced. Worked well on Windows 7 but something else made me go with Windows 10 and now PSE 15 is slower than molasses. Some functions are close to normal but most of the tools are taking several seconds to do their job. I've googled the usual suspects and adjusted preferences but still crawling.

Hi olderndirt,
I also have PSE 15 (installed on two computers, Windows 10); I don't see any sluggishness. Would you please elaborate on how you adjusted the Preferences (RAM, History states, scratch disk, etc.)? Thanks!

RAM available - 25680 use - 18232 (71%) History state - 195 Cache levels - 4 Scratch disk E:\ 936.34 Gb free. Thanks for posting back with your settings! Try the usual suggestions (by the Adobe experts) to improve PSE performance. Let’s see if they will help! RAM:By default PSE uses 70% of the available RAM. PSE 15 is a 64-bit app; it is able to take advantage of more RAM. The more RAM PSE can use the better; it will help with those features and/or tools which are memory-intensive. Change the RAM allocation in increments of 5%. Don’t allocate more than 85% of your computer’s RAM to PSE. Monitor how these changes will affect other apps on your computer. History States:Reduce the number of the History States; this can save scratch disk space and improve performance. The default setting is to record 50 steps; try reducing it to the default. Cache Levels:
Images may take longer to load but increasing the Cache Levels will improve PSE response during your workflow. Try putting this setting to the default number -- 6.
Scratch disk:The internal drive designated for your scratch disk should be as fast as the drive PSE is installed on. An USB drive won’t be fast enough. You can select up to four disks to use as scratch disks.

Reset to the settings suggested and it does seem a little more enthusiastic - time will tell. Thanks a lot.

You are most welcome! Glad to hear PSE 15 "seems a little more enthusiastic".
If it slows down again, try raising the RAM amount allocated to it just a bit more. Also, try reducing the History States to about 20 steps (not below this number).
And, . . . post back if you need any further help.
