Have it up and running and do like how well the new and improved subject selection tool works. In combination with the refine edge tools it does make tricky selections easier (I just had to do a long wispy hair - a subject I've done before - and I think it was quicker and easier with the new tools)

If any users can't find the new Photoshop CC 2020 Object Selection Tool (which should appear in the group which also includes the Quick Selection and Magic Wand tools) this short video from Matt K. should be of help: I had the same problem on my laptop as apparently I had modified the tool bar - it was there on my desktop which I thought I had modified the same way. Strange but at least I finally found it on both (and then I saw that Matt had run into the same issue) |

I tested this tool on about 12 "practice" images (long, wispy, flying hair and some furry critters). I find it easier to use and much faster. When I went into the Refine Edges dialog, there was not much fine-tuning to be done. |

The Object Selection tool was not being displayed together with the Quick Selection and Magic Wand tool if the workspace was set to Photography. If I set it to Essentials (default), then, this tool would be visible. Once I followed Matt's suggestion, it is now visible in the Photography workspace as well. (Thanks, Pete!) |
