Hi I have an iPad Air 2 16gb. I have been told that I can install iTunes on my Windows 7 desktop as well as my iPad. Is this correct ? But then I have also read where iTunes can be a problem because it keeps updating itself etc and uses up a lot of storage. At the moment I am using Google free Cloud space to upload my photos just a few and put into iPad to work on with some apps. Is anyone having a problem with iTunes I only have 16gb on iPad plenty of storage on Windows desktop.? I am having real trouble learning to use my ipad . Thanks. Storm P.S. Is this preview button working .? Click on it but I don't get a separate view like we did on old EV site.

Hi Storm,
I have a Windows 8.1 laptop and have iTunes installed on that machine. I have no problems with storage, but then I only use it for my music, not photos.
As for the program updates, I get an update box asking me if I want to update to the latest version, so I do so when I have the time. It isn't a problem for me.

I have iTunes installed on two computers running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. There are no incompatibility issues. Here is some information on the system requirements for installing iTunes I have been told that I can install iTunes on my Windows 7 desktop as well as my iPad. Is this correct ? But then I have also read where iTunes can be a problem because it keeps updating itself etc and uses up a lot of storage. I have iTunes installed on Windows 7 as well as on Windows 8.1. There have been no incompatibility issues. This Apple document shows the file size and the system requirements.

iTunes does not impose updates on you. When an update is available a message will pop up in the taskbar informing you of it. You have the option to proceed with the installation of the update or just decline it.

Thank you Storkington and Sepiana. Sorry I put my post in the wrong place again. I think its the people like me that only have 16G who were talking about iTunes updating all the time and taking up storage space. I think maybe I should go to the Apple Store and see what deal I can make with them. A gently hardly used Air 2 Pad 16GB with little bit of cash for a 64 GB Air 2. Thanks. Storm

The preview button is working (such as it is), but your are right, it isn't the same as it was on EV. Here you get the choice of seeing your message in preview mode (bold, italics, colors, etc) or in BBCode mode (where you seem the actual tags that make all that other stuff happen). When you embed an image in your post you have to click BBCode and then back to Preview to see your post properly (and sometimes not even that gives full preview; sorry about that!).

Storm,
I think you conflating a few items and it is probably better to tease them out: - iTunes can be installed on your Windows machine. - By itself, iTunes doesn't take up much space on a Windows computer. Like most applications, it gets periodic updates that you can choose to install or not. Again, it doesn't take up much space. - If you have space issues on your iPad, it is likely tied to one of the following: Apps, Music, Videos, or Photos. - If you buy music through iTunes (whether on your computer or iPad), then it will download on your iPad by default. So you could buy a bunch of music on your PC and find you don't have room on your iPad. Similarly, depending on how your Apple account is configured, if you take pictures on an iPhone, it can sync with your iPad and could fill up space. - If you are downloading pictures from your Google account to your iPad, I'm guessing this is what is taking up all the space. If you are doing editing with apps on your iPad, then space could become an issue.

Thank you tpgettys for info about the Preview button. sargenta1 I don't have any issue right now with space because I have only 5 photos on my pad and 4 apps that I put on. No music nothing else . I am trying to find an easy way to put a few photos from my PC into my Pad and am using Google cloud to get them there. I also want to put the digital copies of the magazine on to my Pad but have not figured out a way to do this yet. A gentleman was coming to help me do this, he has just left & I knew he would want to use iTunes. Hence the question. He put iTunes on my PC but that is as far as it got . He could not figure how to get individual photos on to the iPad and did not understand or again could not find a way to put the PDF copies of the magazine . It was really disappointing. This arrow button on the side is really good its like Wow ! Makes up for the Preview button. Thank you for the help. Storm

I also want to put the digital copies of the magazine on to my Pad but have not figured out a way to do this yet. Are you talking about the magazine on the PET site? If so, this may help -- Put Elements Techniques on your iPad. If you are talking about another magazine, these instructions may still apply.

Sepiana I am so excited I was going to shout " I have download the Elements magazines!" and here I found your reply. I had bookmarked that tip from Rick before but I had to find a tut written for a Grade 1 person like me ( I certainly am on an Apple device ) Just one complaint my Library Collections does not look half as nice as Rick's does. Thank you again Sepiana. Storm
