PSE 15. I don't use Organizer much at all. But I have noticed recently, that there are a lot of gaps - see screen shot. I assume it is where images I have deleted from my computer, have been. But I just cannot find out how I can remove all of those blank spaces. I have tried, but to no avail. Can anyone help me with this, please.

If you cntrl click each of the question marks you should be able to delete all of them at once.
If there are too many for that consider creating a new catalog.
I don't use Organizer for anything new (since Sept 2017) so I can delete my images without the mess. I do keep a catalog for all the images imported from 2005 until Sept 2017.
Once you've cleaned up the mess remember that any images in the catalog you wish to delete should be deleted using the Organizer.

To remove all missing files from the catalog: - menu Find >> missing files - the missing files are shown, select all (Ctrl A) - menu File >> Reconnect >> missing files Look at the resulting dialog. There is a small icon with three bars which opens the desired popup menu - select All from that menu, - then delete all.
The missing files are generally files moved, renamed or deleted outside of the organizer. If you have several thousands files to delete, that will take a lot of time.

Thank you both so much. I had tried clicking the question marks, and nothing happened. I didn't know about the Ctrl/click. I have always just used the Expert setting. That is why I got a surprise when I looked in Organizer. So I hadn't put the images there on purpose. I have been thinking for some time, about putting all of my pictures onto my external hard drive. It is just the thought of sorting them all out, and doing it that puts me off. michel, I hope I haven't got thousands of images. No, I am sure I haven't. Again, thank you, gentlemen.

It looks like the "Include in the Elements Organizer" box is turned on. Turn it off if you don't want your photo to get saved in the Organizer.

Yes, it was, Sepiana. It isn't now. I couldn't believe it. I had almost 700 pictures in there. Not any more. Just a handful left, now.

Good! Now Elements will keep that box turned off until . . . you save a photo coming from the Organizer. Then, Elements will turn that box back on.
