Local Ginger Bread contest. Frank, this is a mouth-watering shot! The ginger bread details are amazing against the solid background. Great "zoomed-in" composition!

Today was our annual "Photos with Santa" event where the camera club takes pictures of local kids with Santa. With two cameras tethered to laptops running Lightroom and a couple of printers we are able to turn out finished 4x6 prints in less than a minute so can get through a lot of kids. The background is set up and decorated by the local community theatre. At the end of the event I had to take one last picture of Santa before we took down the scenery. He does look rather exhausted! And I had to stop by a local house that is always well decorated to see what they'd added for this season.. Tony Tony, two timely, sharp, detailed images. The first image takes the top honors. I hope Santa Claus is getting a copy. He earned it!!!

About 300 meters west of our house is the Kin Shelter, built by the Kinsmen and Kinettes and managed by the Town of Coaldale. They put lights up in the trees and decorated the facility and are hosting socials two nights a week until Christmas. I never went into the shelter, but think they serve some sort of grog. Folks were milling about a firepit and cooking marshmallows. A "hayride" wagon brought some folks. Since the horses were decorated with LED lights a photo had to be taken. Clive, two very timely shots, two different decorations. Very seasonal! Great job capturing the lights.

WayneS , an interesting interpretation of this theme. That's quite an unusual pine tree decoration and your shot did justice to it.

Discovered in a side street in Greenwich - cake decorations. Brenda Brenda, a very original image (a different kind of decoration). I love how you captured the reflections on the window and yet kept the focus on the cakes.

The owner of this house has been painting his hedges for many years. I only found out about it, yesterday.

Here I am, a day late but I wanted to get this one at night and I forgot to do it yesterday. I only put the Christmas tree up 2 days ago. This is a macro of one of the native American ornaments we got on a visit to the Taos Pueblo in New Mexico several years ago. Ceramic ornament, hand made and hand painted at the Pueblo, of a Pueblo dwelling.

A second contribution, my wife's newest Nativity set. I lit it with a single LED reading lamp, aimed slightly past, rather than at the stable, and adjusted a cooler light temperature in post trying to simulate moonlight.

For me, it was also a trip down memory lane. I have been to the Taos Pueblo as well (more than once). BTW, you are not late at all. Because life can get in the way of one's photographic endeavors, we made a change to the time frame of the WP challenge. You no longer have only until the next Sunday to . . . grab your camera, take a photo, and post it. You are welcome to participate in this challenge any time you wish to.

I love how the Nativity scene seems to be bathed in the moonlight. Impressive work!

Judy, your playing paid off. I really like the dark surroundings vs the illuminated church building. Very nice!
