I have come to the conclusion, that, to me, this sort of effect, is much better than pastels.

2 images of Columbine from Pixabay with painted effect already on the main one. I used 3 of Jai Johnsons new ‘Hope’ texture set. Used Soft Light blend mode on one of them and Saturation blend mode on another.

Like the way you composed this, Andy. Adding a texture was a good choice. Also wonder how it would look in black and white?

With some encouragement from Lillias and another friend, I finally came up with something for the young man I had included in the Zucchini EP. My usual subjects for textures are flowers and still life. I was drawn to the basket on his bike at first and then he came out and willingly posed for me. But....I hated the background! Original
