Played with guided edit object removal and it worked pretty good using the auto selection tool. Thought I'd do the same in expert mode. The auto selection tool worked fine, but then I drew a blank...how to I remove the selected item in expert mode. I tried fill with content aware, but the results were much worse than the guided. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks, Roger

Roger, I also have PSE 2020. Removing an object with the Auto Selection tool in Guided edit works just fine; it is a different story in Expert edit. I got better results when using the Auto Selection tool + Edit>Fill Content-Aware to remove the object (instead of the Spot Healing or the Healing brush). These two brushes are quite "finicky" about when and how they are used (as explained in Spot Healing Brush vs. Healing Brush).

Thanks Sepiana...the "Edit>Fill Content-Aware is what I was missing. It works, but not nearly as good as the guided edit. I usually avoid using guided edits, preferring to use expert mode in the past...this has changed my mind, I think maybe I'll explore guided edits a little more Thanks and Happy New Year
