So it just happened again. I was writing a response to Tony in the Black and White Challenge, added a link to a video but then got distracted and ended up closing down the page. When I opened back up again there was that little message board asking if I would like to continue my post....with everything saved including the link to the video! Have any of you experienced that? It has saved me more than once but not sure if I've ever written about it.

Helen, you wrote about it back in 2016. . . . this forum does have a nice feature that you may not be aware of. If you were partway through your reply, and you wanted to go back and check something in another thread perhaps, when you came back to your reply you would get an automatic little pop-up with your previously started reply asking if you would like to continue. I hope I am describing this clearly. As an example at EV, if I switched threads before finishing my reply and came back, my reply would be gone....totally frustrating. I really like that feature of this forum. BTW, I believe this feature is OFF by default. It needs to be enabled in the Profile. Go to Edit Profile>Settings>Enable Drafts (Saves your posts periodically during creation.)

Hmm, I wonder if we can make the default ON for everyone? That would certainly save everyone a lot of trouble.

Yes, this feature has saved me on occasion too...

That would be useful and I just found where to turn it on - and it was off. Funnily enough I could have used it earlier when replying to Helen. Got called away and my started reply disappeared. Wonder if there are other forum tricks I’m missing?

For anyone who might want to check to see if this is turned on, you can find it in your profile under settings:

Thanks Helen. Very good. My mumble fingers have made partially-written posts disappear into the ether ... never to be seen again. Are you people like me? Write a long post, lose it and retype, but the second version is half as long?

In a word, Clive - yes. I am going now to turn that on. Thanks, Helen. Done it.

UPDATE:Tpgettys has come through. (Thanks, Tom!) The Enable Drafts feature is now ON by default; drafts are enabled for everyone independent of the setting in their profile.
