The more it goes, the less I am inclined to throw myself into new computer technical learning curves, except if it becomes mandatory to accomplish what I wish to do. I stick to windows, simply because it satisfies my needs and I know it more. There was a time where professional editors, designers, illustrators, graphic artists and photographers seemed to prefer Mac. I do not know if it still is the case.

Thanks to all for your participation to this poll. My original purpose was just to let our members better know what platforms were used in our comunity, certainly not to start a Win vs Mac war . I was also very interested to know how many used the current OS version or an older one. That's good to know to answer questions or help troubleshooting. The answers are already rather clear. So, please, continue to vote. Side discussions are obviously welcome, but they may be worth separate posts, don't you think?

If you haven’t cast your vote yet, we encourage you to do so. Knowing which OS you use is a valuable tool when answering your questions or helping troubleshooting issues related to Photoshop Elements and other software. Comments on your preferred platform are also encouraged.

When I was a worker bee, I used Windows on a local area network and as part of my job, I needed to keep the systems upgraded and functional. When I became a retired worker bee, I went to a gaming computer with Windows 10 and a good graphics card. I thought about moving to Mac, but the learning curve and upgrade costs deterred me.

Just a little reminder, . . .
This poll will be locked in the near future. If you haven’t cast your vote yet, we encourage you to do so. Knowing which OS you use has proven to be very helpful when answering your questions or troubleshooting issues related to Photoshop Elements and other software. whippet, it's not too late. I just voted. And you need to get rid of Win 7 ASAP. Support ended today. Rita No need to panic; I never saw any benefit from Microsoft in all the years that they were "supporting" Windows 7; I doubt I will miss the support. I have picked up quite a few good Windows 7 machines that people were headed to the dumpster with on account of they thought they might explode or something; they work just as good now as they did before support ceased. Like Windows XP, Windows 7 will be here and running for a long time yet. I must be too late to cast my vote; it won't let me and says the polls are closed. Most of our machines are 64-bit Windows 7, some are Pro and others Home Premium. We have a few Windows XP One laptop that has Windows 8.1 (I am ashamed to publicly admit it; but, like the Trojan Horse, it was given to me) ; I installed a program on it that makes it look and behave like Windows 7; my intentions are, when time allows, to install real Windows 7 alongside the 8.1 and set Win 7 to be the primary OS. Some of our machines have various Linux in dual-boot configuration; I like Mint Cinnamon so far the best. I will never intentionally own a machine with Windows 10 unless I find one in a dumpster or beside the road; I can always wipe the drives and install something I will use. I have never had opportunity to use a MAC; I have always wanted to; I cannot remember the name of the British movie from years ago where this seasoned old detective was clicking away on the keyboard and says "You just got to love a MAC" ; ever since, I have always wanted to try one. Does anyone else remember the movie and the line ?
