Moon rises just before sunset and will be 99.9% fully illuminated

Thanks Peter.
I am trying to find a location where I can line up a saguaro cactus on a hill with the moon behind...need to be quite far from the saguaro to give the illusion of a huge moon. Shall see.

Free Transform? Make the moon as huge as you like  . Been so overcast back here in Canada I doubt we’ll even see a glimpse of it. |

HA! I might end up fudging the photo. I made this one the other day....it's not what I want...was just playing. This is two photos .. just dropped the moon next to the cactus. But I want a cool saguaro. We cased a couple of locations this morning and the best one is about 5 minutes from the house...shall see how it goes. W.I.P.  |

Super Snow Moon rising over the Tortillitas just after sunset which provided some nice color in the sky

Was amazed at the beauty of the moon and how it lit the yard. Didn’t try to photograph it because my p&s doesn’t do “nighttime” well. Sometimes I wish I had a “real” camera, but it’s too late in the game for it, so I’ll just enjoy the wonderful photos you all share.

That's cool Pete. Good you got out. We never got back out in the evening..I did take a moon shot off the deck at the house. Maybe this evening we will head to the "the" spot.
