Spring has certainly sprung, Pete. Beautiful pictures. The way you make the focal point stand out - great. I won't bother asking how you do that.

I agree with Margaret. What is your camera info on these shots, Pete?

Since I'm not a fan of using vignettes to draw a viewer's attention I use a combination of structure, dynamic contrast, vibrance in post processing. I use On1 for almost all my processing so once I make a mask to increase dynamic range I copy that make to a local adjustment tab, invert it to decrease saturation, darken, and remove some of the detail. The capture portion is also crucial; rather than get closer I tend to get further away when there's a background that's somewhat distant from the subject. in order of appearance 1st: 600 mm, ISO 100, 1/200 sec, f/4 2nd: ~300 mm, ISO 100, 1/125 sec, f/4 3rd: ~450 mm, ISO 100, 1/640 sec, f/4 I shoot mainly aperture priority and lock at f/4 since that's the sweet spot for the fixed lens. I adjust the ISO when there's a need for a brighter image.

Thanks, Pete. I had a feeling you were using a long zoom.
