I tried just now to post a comment under CraftySnapper's wonderful little girl and clicked on the "Comment" button but nothing happened. I went to the bottom and clicked on comment and it added my name to the latest image posted (the wonderful butterfly).
....so how can I comment on a specific image in someone's gallery rather than the latest image?

Pat.....Did you click on the comment button on the top right? This then allows you to enter text beneath the picture. Clicking on the gray comment box under the picture does not allow you to comment.

I clicked on the grey comment box at the top right and nothing happened. Then I saw a comment box under the image (which I do not recall seeing before) and clicked on it and it just put my name under the image with no comment. How do I remove my no-comment from the image? ..........it could be I'm having a senior moment here...................

Hello me again with another "Comment" question. Now that I have figured out how to put a comment underneath an image, how can I edit that comment when I hit enter too fast and my comment is burned into the ether, never to be edited again? ....especially when you realize that what you said could be interpreted differently than what you intended - another symptom of Senior Moment syndrome.......

Pat,
Just checked with Tom. He said that if you hover your mouse over the comment the box will turn grey.....then you can click it and edit your comment. So glad you asked as I didn't know that either!

I just tried this again. As soon as I put my mouse over the comment area it turned grey, then when I clicked a box came up to edit the post. I wasn't holding down on the mouse......just glided it over the comment.....it doesn't work if you aren't signed in but I don't think that is the issue here. It's interesting as until Tom told me it had never worked for me as often as I tried to edit a comment. I think the key is making sure you are just gliding over the area. Hope this helps.

I just did an experiment and I now think only admins and moderators can edit gallery comments. Let me confirm that, but for now, I know a request to anyone of us to delete a comment will be acted on quickly.

I can confirm that as currently configured, comments cannot be edited by anyone other than admins and moderators.

Andy, the odd think is, I changed the setting to allow gallery owners to edit the comments, but it doesn't seem to work! I am investigating... (Is there any reason we would not want this functionality?)

The ability for forum members to be able to edit previously posted comments would definitely be helpful as there have been times when I have made spelling and punctuation mistakes and would have liked to have been able to go back and correct them.

OK! After reporting the missing comment editing feature the developer released a new version, which is now installed here.
Please try editing comments in your gallery and report any issues you notice - thanks!

I didn't realize there was a bug - thanks for catching that and following up with the developer Tom!
