Recently saw an advertisement for Affinity Photo software, and wondering if anyone here is using it, and their comments. I'm presently running pse 15, and not interested in going to the cloud, which Adobe promote. I also have ON 1 - 18, but just can't get comfortable with it. Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi WayneS
I have Affinity Photo and am still very much a learner but I think it is a good piece of kit. Of course as with all photo editing software there is a learning curve to it. Some people will like it and get on fine with it and others won’t. Don’t expect it to be a clone of PS/PSE as some appear to do. It can do a lot of what the full PS does - not everything as yet - and it does it in slightly different ways perhaps.
I purchased AP back in November 2018 and if memory serves me right it cost me around £40. Since then I have received 7 FREE updates to the programme as the team behind it are continually working on developing and improving it. There is a Mac an iPad and a Windows version. They are on sale half price at the moment. £23.99 for the Mac and Windows versions and £9.99 for the iPad version. Why don’t you download the trial which is fully functioning and lasts for 10 days from the moment you open the programme. That would enable you to see how you like it.
Here is a list of places for tutorials for Affinity Photo.
The first link is to Affinity Photos own video tutorials. The other links are places I have found most helpful. There are loads of other tutorials out there but these will hopefully give you a better understanding of Affinity Photo. Hope this helps. Lillias, something very Interesting! After chatting with you, I downloaded the 10 day trial, and there was a notice that the trial has now been extended to 90 days for a period of time, due to the covd etc., so I guess I lucked in!

You have lucked in right enough WayneS. 90 days should give you a good chance to see how you get on with Affinity Photo. I hope you enjoy it.
