The unfortunate prey was a squirrel minding his own business on the 10th fairway.

When I bush-hog the pastures, several hawks will show up and watch for the rabbits and what-not that blast from in front of the tractor and dash across the newly mown ground. I believe the hawks have learned to go to the sound of a tractor; because, I can sit out there in the same fields for days and never see a hawk; but, I can start the tractor and they will beat me to the field. This area is as rural as it gets and so somebody somewhere is about always bush-hogging, so the raptors just travel from field to field, much like Naomi's Ruth and the gleaners following the grain harvest. Nice job on the hawk.

Rare capture drjoe, good job . It's not often a hawk willl go for a squirrel. If it's not an instant kill the squirrel could react and break a hawk's leg if they were able to get those teeth sunk in.
