I thought this was a golden eagle, but know enough to check bird reference sites because, to non birders, golden eagles look like immature bald eagles. This is an immature bald eagle. They do not get full white heads until about year 4 or 5. Stafford Lake, Alberta. April 15, 2020.

Beautiful image! Your talents with camera and software really shows!
You can also tell it's immature because it does not have any captured food!!

You can also tell it's immature because it does not have any captured food!! When I first saw this eagle it was on shore eating the remains of a snow goose. It flew away when I was a long way off and it actually circled back and flew past me ... well, still along way off. This is cropped quite hard. Thanks Judy! Clive

So Clive, are you're telling me the eagle had goose for dinner, and you didn't??? HA HA! Yeah, I've not eaten goose for years. I am not sure what spring snow goose would be like. (Daily bag limits are huge.) In the fall the geese are fat from eating wheat, corn, peas and other grain crops.
