Beaver. Last night (May 2), across the road in the ponds. - We've been here 20 years and never seen a beaver here.
- Apparently it has been here about one year and seems to be alone.
- No idea how it got here the park is 20 km to the Oldman River ... no, not named after me . There are irrigation canals and he might have worked his way to our ponds over a few weeks.
- If there is just one, fine. If there ends up being a family, they will have to be removed as they are highly destructive. They chop down trees (even large trees) and there are not a lot of trees in the park.
- The is a smallish beaver and probably a young one...perhaps the size of a small dog. Larger than a Yorkie. Smaller than a beagle.
This was shot in poor light at ISO 3,200. I will try to get a full body shot including its tail. Shall see.

I have a feeling you'll be keeping a close eye on this guy, Clive!

I will assume itโs Alberta beaver and is stating that as soon as the nail salon opens she will make an appointment. ๐ great shot, Clive

Thanks. Yes, I'll keep an eye out for him/her. Its dens are a 3-minute walk from the house. Maybe get a body piercing and a tat at the same time as getting the nails done. Same guy or gal ... one last evening and the the the day before. I want a full body shot including the tail. Shall see.

I will bring my dog nail clippers over, and soon sort them out. Looks like a drowned rat. Looking forward to seeing what his/her tail is like, Clive.
