Pixel Creator Pro developed a set of tools called EDD Designer Toolkit that had an action to produce a Frame layer from a selection among other actions for Elements Editor. These were sold about 2010 or so. I have the ATN file but when I try to run it says script is missing. With the new Frame tool in Photoshop CC 2019, I was interested in see if that script would work in Photoshop or Editor. With the Photoshop Frame Tool, you can produce rect/square, oval/round or frames from type, but if you have an irregular shape and make a selection, you have to make a Custom Shape before you can make a frame layer. With the ATN file I am looking for you can go straight from selection to a frame layer. If anyone has access to this file or know where to find a copy, I would appreciate it. Pixel Creator is out of business as I understand.

Hi clemsonjim, For starters, . . . I had never heard of the EDD Designer Toolkit before. I did some googling and found this video. I assume this is what you are talking about. EDD - Designers Toolkit - Creating Frame LayersNow to the problem you mentioned in your OP, . . . I have the ATN file but when I try to run it says script is missing. Let's start the ball running with some questions. - Which Elements version are you using? In another thread you mentioned PSE 14. - Are you on Windows or on a Mac? - How did you try to run this action? Via the Actions or via the Effects panel?

Thanks for the moving to proper area of forum. The link you found is the product I was referring to. To answer your questions: I am presently have version 2020. I have had every version since Adobe Album I believe.
I am running on a Windows 10 machine
I have loaded and tried the ATN file I have in both the Actions and Effects panels as well as Photoshop 2020 which I have also. Same result for all, "Javascript is missing"
I used to take a decorative frame file and select where the picture would go and turn it into a 'frame' that you could just insert a picture like in the Editor graphic frames. Some of these may have little frilly areas that are hard to capture as a selection, change to shape and then bring it back into as a custom shape like you have to do with the Photoshop Frame tool. Of course you can use a clipping mask, but you lose some of the capibilities of a 'frame layer'.I have emailed the seller of EDD, but no response. Not sure he is active now.

Just a question - are you saying the the frame creator in the Guided part of elements with the 4 selection tools will not work for what you are trying to do or are you just attempting to get this 10 year old action working again. The frame creator in the guided section does a very good job with complex selections. Template from freepik.com.

Does this Toolkit involve installing additional files, for example, a .jsx file? The reason I'm asking this is because I have a couple of actions (for Photoshop) which I got from Adobe Exchange and the .atn file won't run unless I first install the accompanying .jsx file in the appropriate folder in Photoshop. It looks like fotofrank and I are on the same wavelength. I was going to suggest the Frame Creator (introduced in PSE 15) as a possible alternative. Thanks guys! I guess I have to eat some crow. I have used the guided edit version of frame creator in times past and had gotten so used to working in Photoshop that I had forgotten (age-related!) about it and was trying to find something that would work in Photoshop with their frame tool. The guided edit does exactly what I was trying to do and I assume that may be the reason Pixel Creator EDD Toolkit is not around. The only drawback for me is that it is not usable in Photoshop (at least I haven't found a way to use some frames I created in Editor to be used in Photoshop). Project for another day. Thanks again, I'm going to get back into Elements Editor more and on this forum more also. Thanks for your input and for keeping the forum alive.

clemsonjim, you are most welcome! However, the credit goes to fotofrank ; he was the one who brought up the Frame Creator (Guided Edit) as an alternative.
