Nature Journaling is an area that excites me; however my sketching and drawing skills are absent. Merging photography and nature journaling is an idea for me to expand my photography.
Thoughts / ideas?

This sounds like a perfect fit for you, Pete. You might find some ideas here. You could certainly substitute photographs for drawings. Blogging might be a way to share your work and be inspired by others who share your interest. I thought the images displayed on this blog were particularly beautiful. A Google search might offer some ideas for getting started with a blog if you choose to go this route.

Peter I like your thinking. In some ways what you (and we) are doing already is nature journalism. We take everyday photos of the great outdoors. Not sure if you have a Facebook page. Despite some negative aspects of FB, it can be a fine way to create nature log. You can block commenting and merely use it as your personal record of the things you see in nature. You could also create a free Weebly (or Go Daddy or Wix) website and record your observations there. My FB photo pages are way out of date...I've mainly been posting on my personal FB page. Lots of options. Have fun ... that's why we do this! Clive

Clive, I do have a FB page used for keeping in touch and photography while steering away from politics. IMO most of the negative aspects are related to how it's used. I created a private, secret group for our 55+ photo club.
Nice photos on your site.
Pete
