I have set PSE to be the default program when I click on a JPG file. It does launch, but it does not load the image into the editor. Instead, I get the splash screen where I have to select between the editor and organizer. What setup step do I still need to do the get it all to work correctly?

Tom, you need to connect with the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file.
1. Right-click on a .jpg file > Open with > Choose another app. 2. Scroll down to More apps > Look for another app on this PC. 3. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements x.x\ . . . 4. Scroll down to PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe and select it.

Thanks Sepiana, that works. However, it seems I have to do that every time I wish to open a JPG. How can I make it remember that is how to open it everytime?

Tom, this should make it stick.
1. Right-click on a .jpg file > Open with > Choose another app. 2. This dialog will pop up -- How do you want to open this file?/Keep using this app. 3. Make sure Adobe Photoshop Elements x.x Editor is selected. 4. Turn on the box -- Always use this app to open .JPG files. 5. Click OK.
