I had my Windows 10 computer formatted and re-loaded Windows 10 Tuesday. I just now re-loaded PSE 2020 and got that done with no problems. After PSE has been open for just a few seconds it is saying there is a new update. I click on it to Install now. It works away for just a few seconds but then I get an error saying "Update Conflict" I have a choice of "QUIT" or "CONTINUE" I click on Continue but again after a few seconds get the same error. Now I decide to Power down the computer and restart hoping that will fix the problem, but it does not fix the problem. All I can do now is hit Quit. Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you for any help you can give me!!!

Sepiana, Thank you! The updating is happening right now as i type this!! Another question you answered for me on an older version of PSE. How can I bypass the "normal" opening screen and go right to PSE Editor? Also I never use the Organizer. Anything special I need to do for that ??

I just messed up. I saw the updating screen, and I was thinking I was looking at my screen shot I grabbed with the Snipping Tool so I closed it, THEN I realized "Hey you BIG Dummy! That was updating!!"
How do I get it back to updating? I am pretty sure it was not yet at 100%
I looked under "Help" but did not see anything to restart it....

Go to Help>Updates. If it is activated, just click on it. If it is grayed out, try closing Elements and opening it.

How can I bypass the "normal" opening screen and go right to PSE Editor? You need to create a shortcut to the Editor. 1. Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2020\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe 2. Right-click on the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file. 3. Select "Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)".

Go to Help>Updates. If it is activated, just click on it. If it is grayed out, try closing Elements and opening it. I opened and closed Elements 2 or 3 times. Update stays greyed out. Maybe it was 100% done? I sure hope so!

This is a change Adobe introduced back in PSE 2019. Help>Updates will remain disabled (grayed out) if an update is not available; it will automatically get enabled whenever an update is released.

Charles, you are most welcome! Glad to hear it worked. Also I never use the Organizer. Anything special I need to do for that ?? Sorry! I forgot to answer this question. No, you don't have to do anything.
